What is a personal Chef?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A personal chef is a chef who prepares meals for a client in the client’s home kitchen, based on the client’s needs and personal preferences. In most cases these meals are left packaged in containers and refrigerated or frozen for the client to enjoy later. Some personal chefs, however, focus on cooking for dinner parties and other special occasions in the client’s home. Which means they are responsible for shopping, preparing the meal, serving the guests and cleaning up afterward. The menu is preplanned and discussed with the client, then prepared in their home. According to health-department guidelines, all food must either be prepared in the home of the client or in a kitchen that has passed an official health inspection.

Some personal chefs also provide meal planning and budget planning for homeowners and second homeowners who are busy with their own lives, but insist on nutritious, tasty meals for their families. Many personal chefs also offer personalized cooking instruction in the privacy of the client’s home, either one-on-one or in groups.

Step 1:

Consultation and Menu Tailoring.

Your personal chef will schedule a complimentary consultation in your home, where you will discuss your food preferences, allergies, sensitivities or dietary restrictions you may have so that your menu will be fully tailored to your families’ needs. They will also discuss other details of the service such as packaging, portion size and potential scheduling. A variety of dishes will then be suggested, and it will be up to you to pick your meals. Once the menu has been finalized, a cooking date will then be arranged.

Step 2:

Meal Preparation Day.

On cooking day, your personal chef will shop for ingredients, promising the freshest available, organic if required, and bring all necessary equipment to complete your meals. Once prepared, your personal chef will package and label your meals, clean your kitchen, and leave your meals in the freezer with the first two meals left in your refrigerator.

You will come home to a wonderful aroma, a clean kitchen and dinner is ready for the oven!

Step 3:

Eat and Enjoy!

Your personal chef will leave detailed thawing and cooking/heating instructions for your meals. Should you have any questions, you can call at any time and they will be happy to provide advice and tips.
